Seat Formentor Engine Power Loss

Alright, so I've got a bit of a headache with my 2023 Seat Formentor. It's a gasoline engine and I've clocked up 176369 km. Recently, I've noticed a significant drop in engine power. Of course, there's an error stored in the error memory. Could this be a faulty chip tuning by third-party providers? Has anyone experienced something similar?

Whoa, that sounds familiar. I had something similar happen with my Seat Ateca. Was the dashboard light on? Did you use an auto scanner to read the fault code? I'm wondering if it is the same issue I had. It turned out to be a messed-up ECU because of some aftermarket tuning.

The dashboard light was indeed on. I used a basic scan tool and it showed a generic fault code related to engine power. How did you figure out it was the chip tuning? What kind of fault code did you get?

Yep, sounds like the same nightmare. My auto scanner gave me a code that pointed towards the ECU. Honestly, the best thing you can do is take it to a workshop. They'll be able to properly diagnose if it's the tuning causing the issue and get it sorted. Don't risk messing something up yourself.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I took it to a local mechanic, and they confirmed it was dodgy chip tuning causing the problem. They removed it and reset everything. Cost me 180€, but at least the car is running properly again.
