Seat Formentor gearbox issues

I'm fuming! My 2023 Seat Formentor with a gasoline engine is playing up. Got almost 112000 km on the clock and now the engine warning light is on. Error memory says it's a transmission oil pressure sensor fault. Gearbox is in emergency mode, slips gears, and makes horrible grinding noises. Anyone else had this happen?

Sounds rough. I had a similar drama with my Formentor not long ago. Engine light came on, gearbox went mental. Was it throwing up any specific error codes? Mine was related to oil pressure as well. Check the oil level, that's where I'd start.

Oil level eh? That's interesting. The garage mentioned something about the 'oil sensor' being faulty, but didn't say anything about the level itself. Did you have the same oil sensor issue then?

Yep, sounds familiar. The sensor probably threw a wobbly because of the low oil. I'd get it checked out by a decent mechanic, just to be sure there's no underlying damage. Don't want to grenade your gearbox!

Cheers! The gearbox oil level was indeed too low. Cost 365€ to get it sorted, which stings, but at least it's fixed. They said it was the oil sensor acting up because of the low oil. What a pain!
