Seat Formentor Oil Pressure Warning

I'm hoping someone can offer some assistance. I have a 2020 Seat Formentor with a gasoline engine and about 136738 km on the clock. Recently, I've noticed the oil pressure warning lamp lighting up in the speedometer. I scanned the car, and it shows a fault related to the engine oil temperature sensor. Could a defective automotive sensor be causing this? I'm thinking it might be the cable or plug connection. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

I also own a Seat Formentor and had similar symptoms a while back. The oil pressure light coming on is definitely concerning. Could be the oil temperature sensor as you suspect. Have you checked the connection to the sensor itself? That's where I would start.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say you had similar symptoms, was it the oil pressure light as well? And where exactly is the oil temperature sensor located in the engine bay? I'm reasonably handy, but I don't want to start pulling things apart without some guidance.

Yes, it was the oil pressure light that initially caught my attention too. It turned out to be a faulty connection to the oil temperature sensor. Honestly, I'm not entirely sure about the exact location. I'd advise taking it to a workshop. Better to be safe than sorry with something like this. They will pinpoint the exact issue.

Took my Formentor to the shop and they verified it was the oil temperature sensor. They found a bad connection, like you thought. The bill was 95€, which is a relief. Thanks again for your help.
