Seat Ibiza AC problem

I am writing to inquire about an issue I'm experiencing with my 2010 Seat Ibiza with a gasoline engine. The air conditioning no longer cools, and the system does not seem to switch on at all. Could this be a defect in individual valves in the air conditioning system? Has anyone experienced this before?

I also own a Seat Ibiza and experienced something similar with my AC. Does the air conditioning system not switch on at all, or does it blow warm air? Have you checked the AC relay? A faulty relay can often be the culprit behind AC malfunctions. It might also be a refrigerant leak.

Thank you for your reply. How did you identify the relay or refrigerant leak as the problem in your Ibiza?

In my case, the AC wasn't blowing cold air, and I could hear a hissing sound that indicated a refrigerant leak. After checking the basics like the AC relay, which seemed fine, I took it to a workshop. They used a dye test to confirm the refrigerant leak and identified the valves as the source. Given your symptoms, it's advisable to get it checked by a professional to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem. It could save you time and money in the long run.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I took your advice and brought my Ibiza to a workshop. They confirmed that there were indeed faulty valves in the AC cooling system, and the refrigerant had leaked. Unfortunately, the eventual repair cost will be around 1000€. But at least the issue is identified and will be resolved.
