Seat Ibiza Air Conditioning Failure

I'm losing my mind! My 2010 Seat Ibiza with a gasoline engine is giving me air conditioning problems. It's only done 50532 km! The air conditioning suddenly stopped cooling, and now it won't even switch on. I've got a warning light on the speedometer, and the error memory has a fault stored. My local garage suspects a defective air conditioning control unit, but the estimated repair cost is around 980€! Has anyone else experienced this? Is it really the air conditioning control unit? Any ideas before I end up broke?

Sounds familiar! I had almost the same problem with my Ibiza. The air conditioning just quit, and the warning light was annoying. Did you check the refrigerant level? That was the first thing I did, but it didn't solve anything. Mine gave me a similar issue.

Yeah, I checked the refrigerant level, seemed fine. The air conditioning system doesn't even switch on, so I suspected something more serious. You mentioned a similar issue... what was the cause in your case? And how did you fix it? Was it expensive? This air conditioning repair has me stressed!

Sounds like the air conditioning control unit to me too. That's what happened with mine. I tried a few things myself, but in the end, I had to take it to a workshop. They confirmed it quickly. Honestly, with those symptoms, I wouldn't mess around too much and just get it checked professionally. Automotive cooling issues can be tricky.

Just wanted to let you know I took my Ibiza to the garage and you were right. They confirmed the air conditioning control unit was defective. I got it replaced, and now the air conditioning is working again! Cost me around 980€, but at least it's sorted. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it!
