Seat Ibiza Automatic Transmission Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Seat Ibiza with 158,482 km is experiencing automatic transmission issues, including improper shifting, an illuminated transmission indicator light, and being stuck in emergency mode. The suspected cause is worn-out transmission oil, potentially due to undervoltage. The solution involved performing a transmission flush and replacing the hydraulic fluid, which resolved the issues and restored proper shifting.

Fluid level seems okay. Could it be worn out even if the level's right? Is a transmission flush the way to go?

Yes, even if the level is fine, old hydraulic fluid can cause issues. It caused some really rough shifting for me. A transmission flush might help, but get it checked by a workshop. Emergency mode sounds serious.

It was the transmission oil. A transmission flush and new hydraulic fluid fixed it. Undervoltage was affecting the transmission. Total cost was 240€. It shifts like new now. Thanks for the advice.

Sounds like a slipping transmission. I had similar transmission performance issues with my old Peugeot, but no transmission indicator light. Have you checked the transmission fluid level?
