Seat Ibiza Electric Steering Column Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Seat Ibiza diesel owner experienced a malfunction with the electric steering column adjustment, indicated by an error memory fault. The suspected cause was a bad cable or plug. Another individual with a similar issue suggested checking the cable connections under the steering wheel, which were found to be loose. After confirming a faulty connector, a replacement resolved the problem.

Thanks for the quick response. Can you tell me where to find the cable connections? Is it easy to get to, or do I need to remove panels?

The symptoms are the same as what I experienced. My connector was loose. Remove the plastic cover under the steering wheel, it's held by a few screws. If you don't want to do that, a workshop can sort it out quickly and inexpensively.

The workshop visit confirmed a faulty connector. A replacement fixed the electric steering column adjustment! The cost was 95€, thanks for the assistance.

That sounds familiar. My Ibiza had the same problem with the electric steering column. Check the cable connections under the steering wheel, that's where the issue was for me.
