Seat Ibiza fault memory lock active error

I've got a weird issue with my 2017 Seat Ibiza with a gasoline engine. The car runs fine, but a warning light came on the dashboard. Plugged in an OBD reader and it shows an error stored in the error memory about a 'fault memory lock active'. Could this be a simple computer system glitch or something serious with the car electronics? I've read that it could be undervoltage related. Any ideas on what to check before I take it in for auto repair?

Sounds like you've got a 'fault memory lock active' error on your Seat Ibiza. Have you checked the battery voltage? Undervoltage can trigger spurious fault codes.

Battery voltage seems fine, starts without issues. What does 'spurious fault codes' mean?

Spurious meaning the fault codes are triggered by the undervoltage, not an actual component failure. If voltage is OK, the control unit itself might be the culprit. I'd suggest a workshop visit.

Just got the car back from auto repair. They cleared the fault memory and did something with the control unit. Bill came to 240€! Ouch!
