Seat Ibiza fresh air blower problem

My Seat Ibiza (2009, gasoline engine) with 139777 km on the clock has a dead fresh air blower. The blower motor isn't working at all. I've got an error stored in the error memory pointing towards a defective blower motor. Anyone else experienced this? Before I shell out for a new one, any ideas on other things to check? I've checked the obvious fuses, and they seem fine. Could it be the electrical wiring somewhere?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Ibiza. Check the fan speed controller, that was the culprit for me. Could also be the heater fan itself.

Where is the fan speed controller located? Is it easy to access and test?

Mine was the heater fan. I'd recommend getting it checked at a workshop to be sure, before you spend money on parts. Could save you a lot of hassle with the electrical wiring if you aren't comfortable working on it.

Took it to the workshop. Turns out the blower motor was indeed defective as suspected. They replaced it, and the total cost including labor was 365€. Everything's working perfectly now. Thanks for your help!
