Seat Ibiza Injection System Problem

My 2000 Seat Ibiza with a gasoline engine is giving me headaches. Done 161652 km. Seems like the injection system is faulty. I'm getting higher fuel consumption, reduced engine power, and it stalls at idle. Plus, there's smoke when I accelerate. Thinking it might be a defective cable or plug connection. Anyone experienced anything similar?

I had a similar issue with my Ibiza. Have you checked the air system? Maybe it is related to the performance of the engine? Could it be the fuel?

Air system? Fuel? What exactly did you check? And what were your symptoms?

Yes, it was a similar problem. The mechanic said it was a bad connection somewhere in the injection system. I would suggest taking it to a workshop to get it checked out, to make sure. Is it the same with diesel engines?

Thanks for the advice. It was a defective plug connection in the injection system, just like you said. Cost me 95€ to fix. Runs like new now.
