Seat Ibiza Instrument Cluster Temperature Issue

I am writing to inquire about a potential issue with my Seat Ibiza, build year 2019, with a gasoline engine. The vehicle currently has 65366 km. I have noticed that the display in the instrument cluster may show incorrect temperatures. Furthermore, the check engine light has illuminated, and the engine takes considerably longer to reach its normal operating temperature. I have read that a possible cause could be a defective fuse. Any advice would be appreciated.

That sounds quite concerning. I had a similar issue with my Ibiza, although I didn't check the fuse. It's like trying to run a marathon with a blocked nose – the engine just can't breathe properly. Is the radiator grille free from obstructions? Leaves, debris, and even a squashed insect can restrict airflow and cause similar symptoms. If the grille is clear, a visit to a trusted mechanic may save you time and money.

Thank you for your quick response. When you say you had a similar issue, was it exactly the same? Did you also experience the check engine light, and were the temperature readings also incorrect? I'd like to know more details, as this may help determine the best course of action.

Yes, the symptoms were quite similar – check engine light and all. Given the fuse possibility and the symptoms you are experiencing, I would suggest having a mechanic take a look. It is likely a simple fix, but I would not risk damaging the engine due to overheating. Think of it as a small investment to prevent a much larger problem down the road.

I appreciate the information provided. I took my Seat Ibiza to a workshop, and after inspection, it was determined that the fuse related to the cooling grille was defective. The fuse was replaced, and the cooling system is now functioning as expected. The total cost of the repair was 52€. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
