Seat Ibiza MOST Bus Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Seat Ibiza experienced a complete failure of its audio and navigation system, with diagnostics indicating a 'MOST bus fault.' The MOST bus is crucial for data transmission between control units, and a fault in one unit can disrupt the entire network. The issue was traced to a faulty amplifier module on the MOST bus, which was resolved by replacing the module, restoring the infotainment system's functionality.

Yeah, the error code pointed to a fault in the MOST bus. Sounds like the same sort of bus network you're talking about. What exactly was failing in your Astra? Was it a specific control unit, or just a general communication breakdown?

Okay, so the Astra... They initially suspected the head unit, but after some car diagnostics, it turned out a faulty Bluetooth module was spamming the bus with garbage data. The garage said it was disrupting the whole communication flow. Honestly, unless you're super confident with car electrics, I'd get it to a workshop. Those bus network issues can be tricky to trace.

Alright, the Ibiza went to a trusted mechanic. A faulty amplifier module on the MOST bus was the culprit, just as suspected. New module, coding, and labor came to about 1000€. Painful, but at least the audio and nav are back. Thanks for the heads up about the MOST bus thing It saved me some time explaining it all to the garage.

Whoa, that sounds like a nightmare I had a similar thing happen in my old Vauxhall Astra, though not exactly the same. Everything entertainment-related just died. They called it a 'data transmission error' and mentioned something about a 'bus network'. Is that the same type of thing?
