Seat Ibiza Parking Aid Fault

My Seat Ibiza with a gasoline engine is exhibiting a parking aid fault. The parking assistant is non-functional, and an error is stored in the error memory. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection to one of the components. Could this be related to obstacle detection or blind spot sensors?

I had a similar problem with my Volvo V60. Parking assist went haywire, throwing errors. Check the connections to the parking sensors and especially the rearview camera. It could be a loose or corroded plug.

Interesting. Did the Volvo throw any specific codes related to the control module, or was it more generic? I'm wondering if I should focus on the camera wiring first, before digging into the module itself.

No specific control module codes that I recall, just a general parking assist error. Visually inspect the camera wiring and connectors first. That's where my issue was. If that looks good, then a workshop visit might be necessary to properly diagnose the control module.

Appreciate the insight. It ended up being a corroded connector on the rearview camera harness, just as you suspected. The shop charged me 95€ to diagnose and repair it. Parking assist is back online.
