Seat Ibiza Power Window Issue
Summary of the thread
After a battery replacement in a 2000 Seat Ibiza diesel, the power windows stopped working, and an error code indicated an issue with window regulator initialization. Despite attempts to reset the windows manually, the problem persisted. The solution involved reprogramming the window regulator using a diagnostic tool at a workshop, which resolved the issue.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried holding the switch as you described, but it didn't work. Is there anything else I could try before taking the door panel off?

I tried that procedure multiple times without success. In my case, the window regulator needed reprogramming using a diagnostic tool. Unless you have one, you might be better off taking it to a workshop to avoid damaging anything when you remove the door panel. It's likely the window motor and regulator are fine but the system needs a reset.

I went to the workshop. They confirmed the window regulator needed re-initialization. The bill was 290€, a bit much, but the power windows work now. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like a familiar problem. I had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane when the battery died. The power window wouldn't work, and there was an error code. Have you tried the window reset procedure? Sometimes, holding the power window switch in the 'up' position for a few seconds after the window is fully closed can do it.
