Seat Ibiza Wiper Problem

My 2009 Seat Ibiza with a diesel engine is having wiper problems. The wipers don't work at all, and there's an error stored in the error memory. I suspect it might be a bad cable or plug connection. Has anyone experienced this? I've checked the wiper switch and it seems okay. The turn signal is working. Any thoughts?

I had a similar issue with my Ibiza. Check the wiring harness where it connects to the wiper motor. Sometimes the connection gets corroded or loose. The rain sensor could also be the culprit, although less likely if there's an error code. A wiring harness is a bundle of electrical wires and connectors that transmit power and signals throughout the vehicle. The wiper motor is the electric motor that powers the windshield wipers. Have you checked the fuses?

Where exactly should I be looking on the wiring harness? Is it easy to access? And which fuses are related to the wiper system?

The connector is right on the wiper motor itself, under the plastic trim at the base of the windshield. The fuse box location depends on your specific Ibiza configuration; consult your owner's manual for fuse layout. If you're not comfortable with electrical work, it's probably best to have a workshop take a look. They can properly diagnose the wiring harness and connections.

Thanks for the input. The garage confirmed it was indeed a faulty connection in the wiring harness. They've sorted it for 95€. Everything's working as it should now.
