Seat Inca Diesel Engine Stalling at Idle

I am experiencing a frustrating issue with my 2001 Seat Inca, which has a diesel engine. The engine light is illuminated, and the engine stalls at idle. I suspect it's a tank ventilation valve malfunction, possibly due to clogged hoses. Has anyone experienced something similar? I want to get a sense of what I'm facing before heading for automotive repair.

Sounds like a faulty tank ventilation valve. I had a similar problem with my Seat, the engine light was on and the car would stall. Check the hoses connected to the valve, those can get clogged up pretty easily, affecting the pressure sensor. Is the check engine light on?

A clogged hose prevents the tank from venting properly. This creates a vacuum, messing with the fuel-air mixture and causing the engine to stall, especially at idle. If you aren't experienced with automotive repair, you should take it to a workshop. They can confirm the diagnosis and replace the valve if needed.

It was the tank ventilation valve, hoses were totally clogged as suspected. Automotive repair cost me 175€. Thanks for the help!
