Seat Inca Diesel Poor Engine Performance
Summary of the thread
The Seat Inca diesel is experiencing poor engine performance, rough idling, jerking during acceleration, and a loud hissing sound, suggesting a potential issue with the air intake system. A faulty intake manifold flap control switch is identified as a likely cause, supported by engine codes pointing to intake manifold issues. The solution involves checking and replacing the defective switch, which resolves the performance problems and eliminates the hissing and jerking.

Cheers for the quick reply! So when you say 'flap control', are we talking about the actual electric switch thingy on the intake manifold? Or is it some vacuum hose I should be chasing? And yeah, the engine light's been on for a while now. I scanned the codes and it points to intake manifold issues, but vague as anything.

Yep, the electric switch on the intake manifold is what I meant. The ECU uses that to control the flaps and optimize air intake. If the engine light's on and the codes point to intake manifold, and you have those symptoms, it is highly likely the switch is faulty. Best bet is to get it checked at a workshop. Running it like that could cause more damage.

Dude, thanks a million for the help! Took her to the shop and you nailed it! They checked the intake manifold flap control and the switch was shot, exactly what you said. Cost me 465€ to get it fixed. Engine's running smooth as butter now! No more hissing or jerking. I really appreciate the help!

Sounds like a faulty intake manifold flap control. I had a similar issue with my Seat Ibiza, also diesel. Check the flap control and its connections. Could be a vacuum leak too. Does the engine light come on?
