Seat Inca Fuel Flap Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Seat Inca diesel developed a fault where the fuel flap wouldn't open, suspected to be related to the cable release or release mechanism. Initial suggestions included checking the release button for stickiness, which could indicate an electrical fault affecting the central locking and electric actuator. The issue was confirmed to be an electrical fault with the actuator, which was resolved by replacing it at a cost of 210€.

Thanks, I'll check the release button. When you say 'sticky', do you mean it wasn't popping back out properly? Did you have to replace the whole thing, or could you clean it or something?

Yeah, exactly that. It felt kind of jammed in. I tried cleaning it, but no luck. The garage said it was an electrical fault and the central locking was playing up, affecting the electric actuator. I'd get it checked professionally if I were you. It might be more complicated than just a sticky button.

Cheers for the help. I took it to a local garage, they ran diagnostics and found the error code. It ended up being an electrical fault with the electric actuator. A new actuator and fitting came to 210€. It's all sorted now.

I had something similar happen on my Inca. It was a pain! Have you checked the release button itself? Mine got a bit sticky and wasn't making proper contact. It's worth a look before you start tearing things apart.
