Seat Inca Oil Temperature Warning Light Problem

I've got a problem with my 2001 Seat Inca, diesel engine. The oil temperature warning light is constantly on in the speedometer, and the oil pressure warning lamp lights up sometimes. Car diagnostics shows a faulty oil temperature sensor with an error stored in the error memory. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else had this before?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Inca. The oil pressure light kept flickering. I'd check the temp sensor connection first. Give it a wiggle, see if anything changes. Could be a loose wire or corroded connector. Those sensors are notorious for causing grief.

Cheers for the advice! When you say 'temp sensor connection', are we talking about the plug itself, or further down the wiring loom? Any tips on how to check it properly? I've got a multimeter, but not sure where to start.

Yeah, I'm talking about the plug right on the car sensor itself. It's worth cleaning it with some electrical contact cleaner if you've got some handy. Honestly, chasing wiring issues can be a real pain. If you're not confident, just go to a workshop. They'll sort you out quick enough.

It was the oil temperature sensor cable. The local garage fixed it for 95€. Thanks for the help!
