Seat Inca Sound System Issue

I am writing to report an issue with the sound system in my Seat Inca, built in 2000, equipped with a diesel engine. The audio system has ceased functioning, with no audio output whatsoever. I suspect that the bass speaker may be defective, but I am open to suggestions regarding potential causes and solutions, especially in relation to any potential Bluetooth issue or audio connectivity problems. I would appreciate any insights you may have.

Summary of the thread

The sound system in a Seat Inca, built in 2000, has stopped functioning, with no audio output. The issue may be due to a defective bass speaker, as suggested by a similar case where sound quality degraded before failing completely. Testing revealed no audio output from the auxiliary input and Bluetooth connectivity issues. A qualified technician's examination confirmed the bass speaker defect, leading to its replacement.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I have a Seat Inca too. I experienced a similar problem with my sound system. The sound quality degraded significantly, and eventually, there was no audio output at all. Have you checked the auxiliary input or tested the sound system with another device using Bluetooth connectivity?

When you encountered this issue, was it a gradual decline in sound quality, or did the audio system fail completely? I have tested the auxiliary input, and there is no audio output there either. The Bluetooth issue is also present because it does not connect to any device, so I am looking for details.

Yes, in my case, it was indeed a gradual decline. First, the sound became distorted, especially at higher volumes, and then it failed completely. Given that your auxiliary input and Bluetooth functionality are also non-operational, it is likely a more significant issue than just a loose connection. I recommend having a qualified technician examine the entire sound system; most likely you will be directed to the workshop to change the bass speaker.

I appreciate the information. It does seem that the bass speaker is indeed defective. I took it to a trusted workshop, and they confirmed the diagnosis. Repair cost was 280€. Thank you for your help.
