Seat Inca start stop problem

My 2001 Seat Inca with a gasoline engine is playing up. The start-stop isn't working. I've got 81215 km on the clock. The engine shuts off as expected, but then I get a warning light on the dash and an error stored. I am guessing a battery issue?

I also have a Seat Inca and I experienced similar issues. Is the starter motor still working properly? Sometimes, in my case, it hesitated before the engine start. It may also be a battery issue. Worth checking the voltage when the engine is off.

The starter motor seems fine. No issues with engine start, it's just the start-stop system that's playing up. Where you getting an error code too?

Yes, the error code was related to low voltage. While the car started fine, the start-stop system is very sensitive to voltage drops. Given the symptoms and error, I would recommend having the battery checked professionally. If it's heavily discharged or defective, that's likely the culprit.

Cheers for the help. I replaced the battery and all is working as expected now. Cost me 290€ all in.
