Seat Inca start stop problem
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Seat Inca with a gasoline engine is experiencing issues with its start-stop system, where the engine shuts off as expected but triggers a warning light and stores an error. The problem is suspected to be related to the battery, as similar issues have been linked to low voltage affecting the start-stop functionality. Replacing the battery resolved the issue, confirming that a defective or heavily discharged battery was the cause.

The starter motor seems fine. No issues with engine start, it's just the start-stop system that's playing up. Where you getting an error code too?

Yes, the error code was related to low voltage. While the car started fine, the start-stop system is very sensitive to voltage drops. Given the symptoms and error, I would recommend having the battery checked professionally. If it's heavily discharged or defective, that's likely the culprit.

Cheers for the help. I replaced the battery and all is working as expected now. Cost me 290€ all in.

I also have a Seat Inca and I experienced similar issues. Is the starter motor still working properly? Sometimes, in my case, it hesitated before the engine start. It may also be a battery issue. Worth checking the voltage when the engine is off.
