Seat Inca Tailgate Hall Sensor Issue

My 2002 Seat Inca diesel is giving me grief. The tailgate doesn't open properly and I'm getting a hall sensor fault in the error memory. I reckon it's a dodgy cable or plug. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar problem with my Inca. Have you checked the sensor wiring and plug connections? A faulty vehicle sensor or a defective electrical sensor is often the cause of tailgate issues.

Thanks for the quick reply. When you say 'similar problem', was it exactly the same, with the error code and the tailgate not fully opening? And was it definitely the sensor wiring?

Yes, the symptoms you describe match my experience. I suggest a workshop visit for diagnosis and repair. Sensor calibration might be needed, but defective sensor wiring is most likely. Repair cost was around that ballpark.

You were spot on. The workshop confirmed it was dodgy wiring. 95€ later and the tailgate works perfectly. Thanks for the help.
