Limp mode, yeah that's exactly it! What did you do to fix it? Was it a simple transmission flush or something more involved?

Okay, 'limp mode' confirms my suspicion even more. In my case, the car transmission was really struggling because the hydraulic fluid was worn out. I'd definitely take it to a mechanic ASAP. They'll probably recommend a transmission flush and a fluid replacement. It's not a super complicated job, but you need the right equipment. Continuing to drive it like that could cause serious damage to your car transmission in the long run. It's best to get it sorted before it gets worse!

You were absolutely right. I took my Leon to the shop, and they confirmed it was the automatic transmission oil. A transmission flush and new hydraulic fluid later, and she's shifting like a dream again. Cost me 240€, but so worth it! Thanks a million for your help!

Woah, that sounds rough! I had a similar issue with my Leon, though I can't remember exactly when. Those symptoms—the weird shifting and the transmission light—they're super familiar. Has the car gone into any kind of 'limp mode'? Basically, does it feel like it's stuck in one gear? It could be related to the automatic gearbox's hydraulic fluid. When the fluid gets old or low, it can mess with transmission performance big time.
