That's interesting. How did you know it was related to DPF regeneration? The engine fan is running more often, but I wasn't sure if that was connected. Did you also experience the smoke when accelerating?

The frequent regeneration attempts, yes. The fan running longer is a sign. I'm not sure about the smoke, but the reduced power points to the DPF being clogged or the sensor failing. Getting it checked by a workshop might be a good idea.

It was the exhaust back pressure sensor, like I thought. Replaced it, and the Leon is running great again. The light is gone, power is back, and no more smoke or exhaust smell. Total cost was 245€, including everything. Thanks for sharing your experience; it helped me figure things out.

Sounds like DPF issues. I had similar reduced power and exhaust smell with my old Vauxhall Astra diesel. Is it trying to do a DPF regeneration often?
