Seat Leon diesel engine issue

I am writing to inquire about a potential issue with my 2006 Seat Leon, which is equipped with a diesel engine. The check engine light illuminated recently, accompanied by reduced engine power, a whistling noise, and a loud hissing sound during acceleration. Diagnostic error memory indicates a charge air temperature sensor error. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Can you offer any advice?

That does sound like a faulty sensor or wiring. Have you checked the air intake for any obstructions? Also, is the whistling noise constant, or only when the engine is under load?

I have not checked the air intake. If the whistling only occurs under load, what does that imply?

If the whistling is only under load, it reinforces the idea of an issue with the temperature sensor, temperature gauge, or its circuit. The airflow sensor might also play a role. Given the symptoms and error code, I would suggest seeking a professional diagnosis to confirm the issue.

I appreciate your input. The issue was indeed a defective cable connection to the charge air temperature sensor, as suspected. The repair cost 95€ to resolve. Thank you for your assistance.
