Seat Leon diesel lighting issue

My 2015 Seat Leon diesel is playing up with the car lighting. Basically, the lights are switching on seemingly at random, and the error memory is storing a fault related to the light switch. I've had a look at the obvious stuff, like the bulbs themselves, but no luck. Thinking it could be a defective cable or plug connection. Anyone else experienced this? Any ideas before I start ripping the dashboard apart?

I had a similar issue with my Leon. Check the dimmer switch for the dashboard lights. Sometimes that can cause all sorts of weirdness with the car lighting.

Interesting. Where exactly is that dimmer switch located, and what kind of weirdness did you experience? Was it just the dashboard lights or other lights too?

Yeah, it was a while ago now, but I remember the dashboard lights flickering, and the tail lights were acting strange too. The dimmer switch is usually near the headlight switch. Honestly, I'd suggest getting a workshop to take a look, unless you're really confident with automotive electrics.

Thanks for the info. I took it to a garage and they confirmed it was a dodgy connection as you suspected. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. All good now.
