Seat Leon Diesel power loss and rough running

I've got a 2009 Seat Leon diesel. Lately, it's been acting up – feels like it's lost power, the engine runs rough, and it jerks when I accelerate. Also, I hear a loud hissing when I put my foot down, and my fuel consumption has gone up. Thinking it might be the intake manifold flap control. Anyone had similar problems?

Sounds like the air intake is compromised. I had similar symptoms with my old Vauxhall Corsa – reduced power, rough running, the works. Eventually the engine light came on. Have you checked for any error codes? It could be the intake manifold causing airflow control problems. Hope its not that, expensive repair!

Error codes? How would I check that, and is the intake manifold flap control the same as the intake manifold?

Sorry to hear that. Yes, use an OBD2 scanner to see your error codes. The intake manifold flap control is part of the overall intake system, but it controls the airflow. If you are not comfortable doing it yourself, I recommend taking it to a workshop to confirm. If the switch is defective like I suspect, it won't be cheap.

Yep, it was the intake manifold flap control. Cost me 465€ to get it sorted. Runs like new now, cheers for the heads up.
