Seat Leon Fuel Flap Release Problem

My Seat Leon, year , with a gasoline engine, has a fuel flap release issue. The fuel filler flap won't open. I'm getting an error code, and the release button isn't working. Some other functions are unavailable. The error memory suggests a defective linkage, but is this a common issue?

I had a similar issue with my Leon. Is the central locking working correctly? Did you check the fuse for the central locking system? It could be related to an electrical fault, given the error code.

Central locking seems fine. Where is the fuse located, and is it an easy check to perform? Also, could this be linked to the key fob battery?

The fuse box location should be in your owner's manual, or usually behind a panel near the steering wheel or in the engine bay. Checking the key fob battery is a good idea, but a faulty linkage is more likely, given the stored error. Have you considered taking it to a workshop for diagnosis?

I took it to a local mechanic. The fuel flap linkage was defective, as suspected. They replaced it and cleared the error memory. Cost me 210€. Sorted now.
