Seat Leon Hybrid heating issue

Regarding my 2020 Seat Leon Hybrid, I am experiencing insufficient heating output. The vehicle has 124903 km. An error is stored in the error memory related to the water valve. The diagnostic information suggests a defective cable or plug connection as the likely cause. However, I suspect the water valve itself might be defective, potentially leading to engine overheating in the long run. Has anyone encountered a similar issue? I want to gather some information before potentially replacing the car valve.

I had a similar issue with my Leon. Reduced heating output and an error code. Have you checked the engine coolant level? A low coolant level can sometimes cause these symptoms. It might also be a faulty thermostat. These cars are known to have thermostat issues.

Thanks for the quick response. Coolant level is fine, I checked that first. The error code specifically points to the water valve. I'm more concerned about the 'cable or plug connection' part in the error description. Did your error also suggest a connection problem, or was it directly pointing to the valve itself?

Ah, if the error code specifically mentions the water valve, it probably is the issue. My error code was less specific. Given your mileage, the valve itself failing wouldn't be surprising. I would suggest getting it checked at a workshop. They can probably diagnose it more accurately. It is really annoying when the car heating does not work properly.

Thank you for the insights. I took it to the workshop, and it turned out to be a defective water valve, as suspected. The cable and plug connections were fine. They replaced the valve, and the heating is working perfectly again. The total cost was 95€.
