Seat Mii Audio System Failure

I am beyond frustrated with the audio system in my 2014 Seat Mii, which has a gasoline engine. With only 56188 km on the clock, the entire system has just died. There's absolutely no sound, and an error is stored in the error memory. I suspect the display might be defective, but I'm dreading the potential 725€ repair cost. I've already checked the obvious – volume control, sound system settings, all seem normal. Could this be a faulty wiring issue? The audio quality was always decent, so I’m surprised by this sudden failure. Any advice before I bite the bullet and replace the display?

I also own a Seat Mii, and your issue sounds eerily familiar to what I experienced. The complete audio failure, accompanied by an error code, points towards a potential problem with the unit itself. Have you checked the fuses related to the sound system? It's a simple thing to overlook, but a blown fuse can certainly cause such problems.

That's an interesting point. I confess, I haven't checked the fuses yet. Where exactly are the fuses located for the audio system in the Mii, and do you recall if your dashboard controls were also unresponsive when your audio system failed? I am trying to eliminate all possibilities before I consider a display replacement.

Indeed, in my case, the dashboard controls were completely unresponsive, similar to a car radio stuck between stations. Given the symptoms you describe and the error code, it strongly suggests a faulty display unit. Fuses are always worth checking as the first step. However, considering the unresponsiveness of your dashboard controls, it might be best to consult with a workshop. They have the tools to properly diagnose the system.

I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for your insight. It was incredibly helpful. I took my Mii to the repair shop, and as you suspected, the display was indeed defective. The repair set me back 725€, but now my sound system is working again. It’s such a relief to have it sorted!
