Seat Mii Electric Airbag Warning Light

My 2020 Seat Mii electric is showing an airbag warning light. From what I've read, it might be a bad cable or plug. Anyone else had this? Is this something that could cause an airbag recall?

The illumination of the airbag warning lamp is indicative of a fault within the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). This system encompasses airbags, seatbelts, and associated sensors. A defective cable or plug connection, as you suspect, is a plausible cause. However, it's crucial to ascertain the specific Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) using an appropriate scan tool. This DTC will provide a more precise localization of the fault. Have you retrieved any DTCs? Without this information, diagnosis remains speculative.

I don't have a scan tool. Is there a way to narrow it down further without one?

Without a scan tool, definitive diagnosis is challenging. While a faulty connection is probable given the symptoms, other components within the restraint system can trigger the warning. Given the safety implications of the airbag system and potential for airbag deployment failure in an accident, I recommend a qualified technician inspect it. The 95€ quoted seems reasonable for diagnosing and rectifying a simple connector issue, promoting vehicle safety.

Appreciate the insight. Took it in, and it was indeed a faulty connector. 95€ later, the airbag light is gone. Hopefully, this sorts it, and there aren't any airbag recall issues in the future.
