Yes, I did have an error code, and the garage confirmed it was the motor. They only replaced the motor in the brake caliper, and that fixed the problem. I would recommend taking it to a workshop to be sure. A brake failure is not something you want to risk.

I had a similar issue with my Seat Mii. The electronic brake warning light came on, and the parking brake stopped working. It could be a faulty brake switch, but in my case, it was the electric motor in the brake caliper. If you have the same problem, you will probably need a new motor.
