Seat Mii Engine Stalling Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Seat Mii with a gasoline engine is experiencing poor starting and stalling at idle, accompanied by an illuminated check engine light. The issue is suspected to be caused by a defective camshaft sensor, which affects ignition timing and leads to engine misfire and stalling. Sensor testing confirmed the camshaft sensor's defect, and the mechanic identified a faulty encoder wheel on the camshafts as the root cause. After replacing the encoder wheel, the problem was resolved.

Sensor testing was performed and the camshaft sensor was determined to be defective. The mechanic suspects that the encoder wheel on camshafts is faulty. Is this the same issue you experienced?

Yes, that's exactly what happened to my Megane! I tried cleaning the sensor, but it didn't help. Eventually, I had to take it to a workshop to get it sorted. Good luck!

Thank you for sharing your experience. It seems the encoder wheel on the camshafts was indeed the culprit. The repair cost 695€. All is well now.

Oh, that sounds rough! I had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane. It kept stalling at idle, and the check engine light was always on. Have you tried sensor testing?
