Voltage regulator? Where is that located, and how would I check it? The starter motor seems fine, it's just sometimes the car has trouble starting, you know, cranks a bit longer than usual. Could that still be related? I'm really worried about the car electronics failing on me.

If the starter motor sounds fine, the longer cranking time, combined with the other symptoms and the error code, does point towards the alternator. Honestly, checking the voltage regulator properly requires some equipment. It's probably best to take it to a workshop; they can diagnose it properly and confirm the alternator issue. Don't keep driving it like that, you risk damaging other car electronics.

The workshop confirmed it was the generator. Alternator replacement is underway at a cost of 960€. I hope this resolves the issues. Thanks again for your help.

Sounds like a classic alternator issue. I had something similar happen with my Mii. The charging system was all over the place. Did you check the voltage regulator? Sometimes that's the culprit before the whole alternator goes. Also, have you had any problems with the starter motor lately?
