Seat Mii Oil Pressure Warning

Good day, I am writing to seek some advice regarding an issue I am experiencing with my 2020 Seat Mii with a gasoline engine. The vehicle has 113509 km on the odometer. Recently, the oil pressure warning lamp in the speedometer has illuminated, indicating a potential problem. I suspect it is due to oil contamination, possibly caused by exceeding the maintenance interval. Could this lead to engine damage? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Whoa, that sounds rough! I had a similar issue with my Mii. The oil pressure warning lamp kept lighting up. Have you checked for any signs of an oil leak? It might be something simple, like a loose drain plug or a worn-out oil filter gasket. Contamination can lead to oil sludge buildup, which is really bad news for the engine. Keep an eye on your engine oil level!

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't noticed any visible oil leak, but I will definitely check those areas you mentioned. What exactly do you mean by 'oil sludge buildup'? Is that a serious issue, and what can cause the engine oil to contaminate?

Yeah, oil sludge is basically a thick, gooey buildup of contaminants in your engine oil. If the engine oil becomes contaminated, it will not lubricate correctly, causing engine damage. It can block oil passages and lead to serious engine damage if left unchecked. It's best to take it to a workshop and have them check it out. They can probably diagnose the problem quickly.

Thank you for your advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right. The mechanic confirmed that the oil contamination was due to exceeding the maintenance interval. They performed an oil change and replaced the oil filter. The total repair cost was 165€ . Hopefully, this solves the issue!
