Seat Mii Overheating Issue

Hello, I'm experiencing a rather annoying issue with my 2018 Seat Mii with a gasoline engine. The check engine light is on, and the car seems to be overheating. A diagnostic scan suggests a problem with the active air flap. Is it possibly a defective electromechanism? Any thoughts before I potentially face a hefty repair bill?

Hey, I also own a Seat Mii and had a similar problem with the car overheating and the check engine light coming on. It turned out to be a faulty flap motor controlling the active air flap system. Have you had a diagnostic scan done?

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I did a diagnostic scan and it pointed towards a fault with the active air flap. Was it a straightforward fix, and did you have any other symptoms besides the car overheating?

Yes, the diagnostic pointed directly to the flap motor. I didn't notice any other symptoms, just the car overheating and the check engine light. I'd advise getting it checked out by a workshop to confirm the issue with the active air flap. It's probably the flap motor.

Thanks a lot for your help! I took it to a trusted workshop, and after a diagnostic scan, they confirmed it was indeed the active air flap motor. The repair cost me around 590€, but now the check engine light is off, and the car is no longer overheating.
