Thank you for your reply. Where can I find the throttle position sensor and how can I check for air intake leaks? Also, the engine idle is a bit rough. Could that be related?

Yes, a rough engine idle definitely points towards an issue with the throttle valve or air intake. Regarding your question, the throttle position sensor is usually attached directly to the throttle body. Checking for air intake leaks can be tricky without proper equipment, it could involve smoke testing. Given the symptoms and my experience, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis.

Thank you for the advice. I took it to a local workshop and they confirmed that the throttle valve was indeed defective, likely due to a faulty accelerator pedal module. The total repair cost me 205€. The car is now running much better.

I had a similar issue with my Mii. It might be worth checking the throttle position sensor as well. Sometimes a faulty reading there can cause similar symptoms. Have you checked for any air intake leaks? Also, what does the engine idle sound like? Any unusual noises?
