Seat Tarraco AC issues

I am writing to seek assistance with a rather concerning issue affecting my Seat Tarraco, manufactured in 2022 and equipped with a diesel engine. The vehicle has accumulated approximately 190767 km. Recently, I have observed that the air conditioning system has ceased to function correctly. Specifically, the air conditioning no longer cools, and the system fails to activate upon command. Furthermore, a warning light is now illuminated within the speedometer cluster. Diagnostic analysis reveals an error stored in the error memory, indicating a potential malfunction within the system. While I have not detected any obvious signs of a refrigerant leak, I am growing increasingly concerned about the possibility of significant damage to the cooling system. Could a defective air conditioning control unit be the underlying cause? What could be the issue with this auto AC repair?

I understand your frustration. The symptoms you are describing sound suspiciously familiar. I had a similar issue with my Renault Megane, although it's a different brand and model. The air conditioning stopped cooling, and a warning light illuminated on the dashboard. I also suspected a refrigerant leak, but it turned out to be AC unit issues. Have you checked the pressure within the cooling system? Did you inspect the refrigerant lines for any visible damage?

Thank you for your prompt response. You mentioned having a similar problem with your Renault Megane. Can you provide more details regarding the cooling system failure? What was the root cause of the AC unit issues in your case? Did you also receive a similar error message indicating a defective control unit?

Indeed, the symptoms align very closely with what I experienced. The ultimate diagnosis for my Renault Megane pointed to a faulty AC control unit. It appears to be a common failure point in modern vehicles. Given your mileage and the error code, it would be prudent to consult a qualified technician for a comprehensive evaluation. Attempting to troubleshoot such complex systems without specialized equipment could potentially exacerbate the problem. I ended up going to the workshop. I think you should do the same.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It seems our issues were indeed similar. Based on your recommendation and the diagnostic report from the workshop, I authorized the air conditioning repair. The defective air conditioning control unit was replaced, and the system was refilled. The total cost amounted to 980€. Everything is working correctly now. I appreciate your help and advice.
