Seat Tarraco Diesel Engine Trouble

My Seat Tarraco, built in , diesel engine, is playing up. Check engine light's on, keeps stalling at idle, and feels like I'm towing a house with reduced engine power. Diagnostic says 'rail pressure sensor signal faulty'. Reckon it's just a dodgy pressure sensor messing with the engine performance?

Sounds like a faulty rail pressure sensor. I had a similar issue with my Tarraco. Any recent work done on the fuel injection system?

Fuel injection work? Nah, nothing recently. Just been using her as a family wagon. But a faulty rail pressure sensor… that would explain the sensor signal fault, wouldn't it? Was that the eventual solution for your problem?

Yep, rail pressure sensor. It's a common fault. Best get it sorted at a workshop. It impacts the fuel injection system and engine performance.

Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. Rail pressure sensor was the culprit. 240€ later and she's purring like a kitten again. Fuel injection is back to normal and engine performance is great!
