Seat Tarraco Engine Stalling At Idle
Summary of the thread
The 2021 Seat Tarraco experienced engine stalling at idle, with a check engine light indicating an issue with the idle air control (IAC) valve. Initial attempts to resolve the problem by cleaning the throttle body were unsuccessful, leading to the suspicion of a heavily contaminated intake. A professional diagnosis confirmed the intake contamination, and after cleaning and replacing the IAC valve, the issue was resolved.

Thanks for the suggestion. I visually inspected the vacuum lines, but didn't find any obvious cracks. Is there a more reliable way to check for leaks? Maybe with some kind of spray?

Sprays can work, but are not always reliable. Given that you've already cleaned the throttle body and suspect intake contamination, it might be worth getting it professionally diagnosed. A smoke test would be the most reliable way to check for leaks, and a mechanic can also properly assess the IAC valve itself. Best of luck!

I took it to a shop and they confirmed it was a heavily contaminated intake causing the idle air control valve to malfunction. They cleaned everything up and replaced the IAC valve. Total cost was 425€. Runs like new now!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar engine stalling issue with my old BMW 3 series. Also related to idle control. Did you check for any vacuum leaks? Those can mess with the idle speed and cause the IAC valve to act up.
