Seat Tarraco GPS Issue

I'm facing an issue with my Seat Tarraco, 2021 model, gasoline engine. The car navigation system is not receiving any GPS signal. I scanned the error memory, and it shows a GPS antenna problem. I suspect the GPS antenna is defective. Does anyone have experience with this? I'm trying to avoid unnecessary costs, but I fear a replacement and repair could be around 200€.

Summary of the thread

The Seat Tarraco's navigation system was not receiving a GPS signal, with an error indicating a GPS antenna problem. The suspected cause was a defective GPS antenna, leading to a loss of satellite connection and incorrect positioning. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the GPS antenna, which restored the signal and cleared the error. The suggested solution was to confirm the diagnosis at a workshop and replace the antenna, with an expected cost of around 200€.

I experienced a similar issue with my Tarraco. The car navigation system was constantly showing the wrong location because of a weak GPS signal, and an error was stored. Do you also have problems getting a satellite connection, and is the indicated position completely off?

Yes, exactly. The satellite connection is constantly lost, and the car navigation is completely useless. It keeps showing me driving through fields, even on the highway. Was it also the GPS antenna in your case? And how did you figure that out? I'm trying to understand the car electronics involved.

It definitely sounds like the GPS antenna. In my case, the workshop confirmed that the GPS module in the antenna itself had failed. A new antenna solved the problem. Given your symptoms and the error code, it's highly likely the same for you. I suggest taking it to a workshop to confirm the diagnosis before ordering parts, but be prepared for a similar repair cost.

Just wanted to share the outcome. You were spot on. A workshop confirmed the defective GPS antenna. Replacing it restored the GPS signal and cleared the error. Total cost was around 200€. Thanks for the help and guidance.
