Seat Tarraco Headlight Range Fault

Okay, I'm officially pulling my hair out! My 2022 Seat Tarraco hybrid is throwing a headlight range control fault. I've got 150141 km on the clock. The error is stored in the error memory, and a warning light is mocking me from the speedometer. The main issue is the low beam – it's either shining way too low or sometimes too high! I'm suspecting the light intensity or maybe a beam adjustment issue, but I'm lost. Could it be the adaptive headlights messing up?

Sounds like a faulty headlight range control servomotor. Have you checked the electrical connectors to the headlights? Sometimes a loose connection can cause weird issues with the adaptive headlights.

Thanks! I did jiggle some wires but maybe not the right ones. Where exactly are the electrical connectors you're talking about? I am not sure how to check them. Is there a special trick?

Yeah, those connectors are usually right on the back of the headlight assembly. No real trick, just make sure they're firmly plugged in and not corroded. If that doesn't fix it, it's probably the servomotor itself. Sounds like you'll need to visit a workshop.

Took the Tarraco to a workshop and they confirmed it was a defective servomotor in the headlight, just like you thought. The whole thing cost me 1040€ to fix. Thanks again for your help!
