Seat Tarraco Hybrid ABS and Traction Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Seat Tarraco hybrid is experiencing ABS and traction problems, with the ABS lamp illuminating. Preliminary diagnostics suggest a defective control unit, possibly linked to the ECM. A suggestion was made to check the wheel speed sensor, as similar issues have been caused by faulty sensors in other vehicles. Ultimately, the problem was confirmed to be with the ECM, and repairs were carried out at a workshop.

The wheel speed sensor, you say? Is it easy to check, or does it require specialized equipment? And, hypothetically, if the sensor is sending incorrect data, would that also trigger the ABS light and impact the speedometer?

Yes, the ABS light and speedometer issues were all tied to that faulty sensor. It's worth investigating, but you may need diagnostic tools to properly assess it. Given your initial diagnostic points to the ECM, it might be best to consult a workshop with experience in these matters.

Acknowledged, and thanks for your assistance. I took it to a trusted workshop, and, as suspected, the ECM was indeed the culprit. The repair set me back approximately 1000€. Hopefully, this resolves the issue permanently.

Interesting problem you are having. Is it possible that the wheel speed sensor is defective? I had similar issues with my Peugeot 308 a while ago. Same ABS and traction control malfunction. The diagnostic pointed to a faulty sensor messing with the transmission and speedometer readings. Have you checked the sensor connections?
