Seat Tarraco Hybrid Auxiliary Heater Problem

Experiencing an issue with the auxiliary heater on my 2021 Seat Tarraco hybrid. The parking heater refuses to activate, and the diagnostic tool is showing an error stored in the error memory related to the auxiliary heater system. Based on my research, a defective glow plug seems like the likely culprit. Has anyone else encountered something similar? I am getting adequate heat control and the ventilation system seems normal, but this auxiliary heater issue is bugging me.

That sounds frustrating. I had a similar issue with my old Volvo, though it wasn't a hybrid. The symptoms were almost identical: parking heater refusing to activate and an error code popping up. Have you checked the blower motor? Sometimes a faulty blower can trigger these kinds of errors as a safety measure. It might be worth a quick look before diving into more complex diagnostics.

Thanks for the reply. Regarding the blower motor, did your Volvo throw a specific error code related to it, or was it just a process of elimination? I’m seeing an error directly pointing to the auxiliary heater itself, but I'm open to exploring other possibilities before I commit to replacing the glow plug.

No specific code for the blower motor itself, just a general 'heater malfunction' error. Replacing the glow plug on my Volvo didn't solve it, and the workshop guys said it was the heater core. Honestly, save yourself the headache and take it to someone who knows what they're doing with auxiliary heaters. Could be simple, could be a nightmare. Good luck.

Just got the Tarraco back. The auxiliary heater glow plug was indeed defective, as suspected. Cost me 440€ including labor and parts. Thanks for your input; it helped confirm my suspicions before heading to the workshop.
