Thanks for the quick reply! Where exactly is the purge valve located, and how difficult is it to inspect the hoses? I'm fairly comfortable working on cars.

It's usually near the engine, connected to the fuel tank. The hoses are easy enough to visually inspect for cracks, but honestly, given your symptoms, it might be best to get a professional diagnosis. Could save you time and money in the long run.

Appreciate the input. I took it to a certified mechanic, and you were spot on. The defective activated charcoal filter caused a fuel tank ventilation system leak, leading to the check engine light and stalling. They replaced it for 275€. Hopefully, my fuel efficiency will return to normal now.

Sounds like a pain. I had a similar issue with my Tarraco. Check your purge valve and the hoses connected to it. A leak there can mess with your emission control system and cause those symptoms. It's like trying to run with a pinched nose – the engine can't breathe properly.
