Seat Tarraco Hybrid Power Window Issue

I've got a bit of a headache with my 2021 Seat Tarraco Hybrid. The power windows have completely stopped working. All of them. I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. The car has about 140813 km on it. I got it scanned at a local garage, and there's an error stored in the error memory related to the window control. They reckon it might be a defective power window switch. Is this a common problem? I'm trying to avoid getting ripped off. Any ideas on how to proceed? They quoted me around 200€ for the repair. Looking for a second opinion before I pull the trigger. I'm guessing it's either the window motor, the window control unit, or something else entirely. All help appreciated.

Sounds like you might have a similar issue to what I experienced in my Tarraco. The inability to operate the power windows and a stored error definitely rings a bell. Before jumping to conclusions, have you checked the door panel wiring harness for any signs of damage or loose connections? Sometimes, a simple disconnect can cause these symptoms. Also, when you say 'error memory', what specific error code are you seeing?

I haven't checked the door panel wiring harness myself, to be honest. I'm not really comfortable messing with the electrics. As for the error code, I can't remember exactly what it was, but the diagnostic tool at the garage pointed to an issue with the window control circuit. Could it really be just a loose connection? I assumed it was the window motor itself.

A loose connection is always worth checking, but given the error code points to the window control circuit, and the fact that all windows are affected, a faulty power window switch is a strong possibility. It's like when a fuse blows, sometimes it's just one circuit, sometimes it takes everything out. Since you are not comfortable with electrics, my advice would be to get a mechanic to confirm the switch is faulty. It is very possible that it is a faulty switch. Replacing the switch is fairly straightforward, and 200€ seems like a reasonable price, assuming it includes the switch itself. If the garage is confident in their diagnosis, I'd say go for it.

Thanks for the info! I took it to a local garage, and they confirmed it was a faulty window switch. They replaced it, cleared the error memory, and now the power windows are working perfectly again. Cost me around 200€, just like you said. Appreciate the help!
