Seat Tarraco Hybrid Start Stop Problem

I'm getting so frustrated with my Seat Tarraco 2022 Hybrid! The start-stop system has stopped working altogether. The engine shuts off as expected at traffic lights, but then it doesn't always restart automatically. Plus, there's a warning light on the speedometer, and the error memory stores a fault. I suspect the car battery might be the culprit, maybe heavily discharged or even defective. Has anyone else experienced this?

Have you noticed if it happens more often during shorter trips or when using a lot of electrical consumers, like the AC or heated seats? In my case, the automatic restart sometimes failed, which was very inconvenient.

Yes, now that you mention it, it does seem to happen more often on shorter trips. The automatic restart also failed on me a few times, especially in Eco mode. Was it indeed the car battery in your case? Did you have to replace it?

Yes, the workshop confirmed it was the car battery. They said the hybrid system puts extra strain on it. I would suggest having your battery checked. A defective battery can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins. I ended up replacing mine, and that fixed the start-stop issue completely. Maybe it's best to go to the workshop.

I had the car battery replaced today at the workshop. The start-stop system seems to be working now. Hopefully, this solves the issue for good. The bill came to 290€, which is a bit annoying, but at least the Eco mode is back!
