Seat Tarraco Oil Pressure Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Seat Tarraco diesel is experiencing an oil pressure warning light and loud mechanical noise, suggesting a potential oil pump failure. While a clogged oil filter could be a simpler cause, the symptoms indicate a more serious issue. It is advised to have the vehicle checked by a professional to prevent further damage. The problem was confirmed to be a failing oil pump, compounded by a clogged oil filter.

Thanks for the quick reply. No visible oil leakage that I could see. I'm not sure about the oil viscosity, as it was last changed during the previous service. What caused your issue with the Ateca?

Mine turned out to be a failing oil pump. Given your symptoms, especially the loud noises and the low oil pressure light, I suspect the same. A clogged oil filter could contribute, but the noise suggests something more serious. I'd advise getting it checked by a professional as soon as possible to prevent further damage.

Took it to the workshop, and you were right. It was the oil pump. The oil filter was also clogged, which probably made things worse. Cost me 755€, ouch! Thanks for the help.

Low oil pressure in a Tarraco is never good. I had a similar issue with my Seat Ateca. The oil pressure warning light came on, and there were some nasty engine noises. Have you checked for oil leakage? What oil viscosity are you using?
