Seat Tarraco transmission problem

Interesting. I haven't checked the oil level yet. Where is the dipstick located, or is there a specific procedure for checking it on the Tarraco? Is it possible to do it without specialized tools? Also, I'm wondering if you had the same transmission issues I am having - grinding noises?

On my Tarraco, there isn't a dipstick for the transmission fluid. Checking it properly requires getting underneath the car and removing a plug – not something easily done at home. Considering the grinding noises, I'd strongly advise against driving it too much and would suggest a visit to a workshop as soon as possible, especially given that you are already having gear shifting problems.

Just wanted to close the loop on this. Took it to a trusted mechanic, and you were spot on. Turns out the transmission oil level was indeed low. They also replaced the faulty temperature sensor while they were at it. Total cost was 365€. Shifts are smooth again, no more emergency mode. Thanks for the pointers!

Sounds familiar. I also own a Tarraco and had similar transmission issues a while back. Engine light was on, and the gear shifting was rough. Did you check the transmission oil level? I'm no expert, but that's where I'd start investigating when experiencing these symptoms.
