Seat Tarraco wiper malfunction

I am writing to report an issue I have encountered with my Seat Tarraco, manufactured in 2022, diesel engine. The windshield wipers have ceased functioning entirely. Diagnostic procedures revealed an error stored in the error memory. Based on my assessment, the likely cause resides within a defective cable or plug connection associated with the component, potentially within the steering column or affecting the wiper motor. Could this also influence the cruise control functionality? I suspect the repair cost might be around 95€. I would appreciate any insights or recommendations you might have before I proceed further.

A similar issue occurred with my previous vehicle, a 2018 Audi A4. The symptoms you describe are consistent with a potential failure in the wiper switch or its related circuitry. Have you checked the fuses related to the wiper motor? That is always the first place to look. Although it seems that you already went beyond this step.

Thank you for the quick response. You mentioned a similar issue with your Audi. Was the cruise control also affected in your case, and do you recall if the error memory also stored a similar fault code?

In my case, the cruise control did not seem to be affected, but I recall that the error memory registered a fault code related to the steering column electronics. It sounds as though the root cause could be the same. I would advise against attempting extensive DIY repairs in this area; it might be best to consult a qualified technician for this particular issue.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. I followed your advice and took it to the workshop. The diagnostic confirmed a faulty connection in the steering column, just as suspected. Replacing the connection and related wiring indeed solved the problem. The total cost was approximately 95€, which aligns with the initial estimate. Thanks again for your help.
